Fr.Gov.H.K.
11/10/30.
I am directed by Lord Passfield to acknowledge
the receipt of your letter No.F.5412/37/10 of the 6th
October regarding the proposed Hong Kong China Customs
Agreement, and to transmit to you, for the information
of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, the
accompanying copies of telegrams which have been exchanged
with the Governor of Hong Kong on the subject.
2. Lord Passfield sees certain advantages in the
less formal agreement suggested by Sir Miles Lampson and
he would be glad if Mr. Henderson will consider the
matter further, as proposed, when the draft agreement
has been received.
THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE
FOREIGN OFFICE.
I am,
Sir.
Your most obedient servant,
(d) Waller D) Ellis
